Woodstock Vinyl Record Shop looks to hit right notes with Chester music lovers
A NEW store is hoping to strike a chord with Chester music fans.
Woodstock Vinyl Record Shop has opened its doors on Garden Lane, tapping into the vinyl revival, which has seen increased interest from a new generation for its retro appeal.
Owner Brian Green said: It is interesting that although music sales statistics state 70% of sales last year were from downloads, a large number of younger people are now getting into vinyl and enjoying the vinyl experience just like their parents did 30 years ago.
I will be buying and selling good quality vinyl from the shop from a wide range of music genres including rock, pop, Motown, soul, blues and reggae.
I will also be stocking a small range of record players, T-shirts, concert posters, vintage and trendy clothing.
Brian added he was looking to support the local area with his new business venture.
He said: I am hoping the opening of the shop will support the social regeneration of the area and increase the footfall to this well-known and community-spirited part of the city.
As I moved my stock into the shop, a number of students have already been in and expressed their excitement such a facility is going to be literally on their doorstep.
I also intend to promote the work of local bands in the shop, selling any promo CDs or vinyl they release and advertising their gigs.
The store is open on Saturdays from 10am-5pm and Sundays from noon to 4pm.
